Open to anyone
In the middle of the park there was a fountain, where Hongki often went. He didn’t know why, but when he stared down into the water it scared him a little. There was a face he couldn’t kill, a pair of eyes looking up at him with a manic gleam. He wondered, what would happen if he died? What would he look like; what would he feel?
Everyone was so boring lately. That Ryeowook kid had always been, but the vampire was even growing soft. The gang had been up to nothing spectacular lately and he hadn't had nearly so much to do besides blow up the fountain in the garden and pretend the plants were dying because of bad grooming instead of his own ministrations. Why couldn't things be fun like they used to be?
He must have looked sort of lost, because the next thing he knew, some old lady had laid her hand on his shoulder. He flinched away, knocking it aside and staring up at her with haunted eyes. She was revolting. People should never be allowed to become so old.
“Son, are you alright?” She asked in a concerned tone, taking a step towards him as he took a step back.
He smiled at her, his eyes turning into crescent moons as he reached a hand out and touched hers. It didn’t take long for his power to push into her, for him to draw out all the water in her body into miniature bombs, making them explode out of her in a cascade of red. He let her porous body drop back into the fountain water, still laughing on the high that came from the light that he had just watched leave her eyes.
Someone screamed behind him, and his lips quirked into a deadly smirk. He turned to face the people running away and screaming. There was a whistle as a policeman started running towards him. It was too easy, it was way too easy. Maybe this time, someone would stop him.
If they could.

If they could.
He heard a scream and he opened the channels of his mind instantly regretting the overwhelming emotions that entered.
Fear... pain..... hysteria.
Thoughts of blood lifeless eyes, so powerfully expressed Donghae could almost envision the sight and it made his stomach twist into knots. He stood, shutting off his powers and calming his rattled nerves as he walked toward the commotion. To an innocent passerby things looked quite normal, but Donghae knew the truth.
Perhaps he should have been disgusted by the sight left to him, perhaps he should have been justifiably terrified at how brutal he had destroyed the man. At how easy it was to murder.
But he wasn't. Instead he laughed giddily, turning his head towards the next victim as people started to shove each other as they ran out of the park, leaving their things behind in the flurry to escape with their lives. Women pushing baby carts, old with canes, they were all the same.
They were all so undeniably mortal. If Hongki retained any empathy--had he not thrown emotions away, perhaps he wouldn't feel the high that killing provided him with. But really, it had been far to long since he was let out on his own, and really, no one liked it when they weren't allowed to do their favorite things.
His eyes trained on one boy who was walking towards him while all the others were running away. A smirk twisted his lips as he raised his hands, the water lifting out of the fountain to pool around his head in midair. It was boring, killing people who didn't fight back. Maybe he'd play a little with this one.
It wasn't like he had anything to lose.
The people moved around him in a blur and he wondered why his feet werent responding, something about the boy was remarkably enchanting.
What did a person have to go through or feel, or not feel in order to find this humorous. To sit and stare with a smirk, he cocked his head to the side, keeping his distance as to not disturb him.
I can feel emotions, even the ones you stuff way down in you Donghae told himself, wishing this boy understood what that meant. Maybe he was just tired of being alone.
"Who're you?" Hongki asked, hands on his hips and his head cocked curiously, all thoughts of killing seemingly vanished for now.
"Donghae," he replied quietly, hesitantly as he looked over the other boy.
"You?" he asked quietly curious as to why the boy hadn't killed him yet and he bit his lip out of nervousness only imagining the things this boy was thinking or feeling. He was interesting, Donghae had never met anyone quite like him, and yet he felt scared but not terrified enough to run away.
Maybe this boy was lonely.
He took the hand and pulled himself up, using the momentum to lodge his face right in front of Donghae's. "Why would you just 'feed me'?" He asked, curious. "Why would you take me somewhere when I can just kill everyone in the area and you?
It made no sense, why wasn't this kid afraid? Was he afraid? Maybe he was but he was hiding it? Did he think it was some weird bravery thing that made him stay?
"So are you hungry or not," he asked, keeping a cool on his emotions. Later when he thought about this, he would probably cry or scream or freak out but for now, it wasn't like that.
"Well, you haven't killed me yet and I am grateful for that really I am." he said, hoping Hongki didn't get the wrong idea, "so do you want to eat or not?" he asked him, "I am not reading your mind, that is rude unless you want me to." he said with a grin.
"...Kay, feed me." He told Donghae with a boyish grin, and promptly fainted on the sidewalk.
"Hongki," he replied shaking him gently, "Wake up," he yelled as he went into the McDonald's and threw some water on his face, hoping that didn't piss the other off when he woke up.
"Wake up, I'll buy you chicken nuggets." he said panic building up in his chest.
"You don't know why?" He gave Donghae a weird look. "No one has ever told me that life is good because of me. I'm the opposite, because I'm not good for the living."
"No I don't know why, well I mean I was learning to "control" my abilities." he said, "but I could use more friends." he replied. "So Hongki what do you think we should do now." he poked him. "Oh surprise me!" he grinned.
"Surprise you?" He blinked, giving a puzzled expression. "Okay, I'll surprise you~" He cackled, grabbing Donghae and teleporting the two of them to a movie theater. "Friends go to these things, right?"
He grinned as he saw where there were. "Yes, they do, what shall we see," he giggled, pulling Hongki's hand and tugging him into the movie theater.
"Friends do go to these things Hongki," he smiled happy to finally be out and about in the world, but not reporting in would probably not be so good later on.
"What gang are you in?" He hissed, pain in his chest making his chestnut eyes flash. He licked his lips nervously, sudden realizations crashing down upon his shoulders.
"Gang... gang... Hongki please." he begged, gripping the others shoulders lightly out of fear. "Please Hongki I wasn't befriending you because of that, I didn't know, I just please Hongki."
He was scared and he shook and he didn't know what to do should he tell him, or not. If it became a life or death scenario, he would tell him. He probably already knew.
He'd just met Donghae, he had let him into his heart so easy that it was scary, how could he let himself off his guard so easily?
"I didn't lead you on, I didn't even read your fucking mind," he glared. "Why are you so angry now."
He pulled away and grinned, "Do you need to know my address?" he asked tilting his head to the side curiously and grinning.
Weird.
He pushed it in front of Hongki and beamed expectantly.
"Try it." He grinned.
His eyes widened and he grinned at Donghae, taking another gulp and relishing the pain and the little liquid heaven that dripped down his throat, both things equally amazing to him--mixed in together.
He smiled as he ate a marshmallow.
"I love hot cocoa." He sighed as he looked over at Hongki, he was so excited to have someone who loved cocoa just as much as him.
burn his throattake another large gulp.He finished with a wide smile, waving the empty mug and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "Thanks," he said, only sort of grudgingly.
